Erectile dysfunction medicines took in Glengormley

Large amounts of unlicensed medicines have been seized by Department of Health authorities throughout a search of a home in Glengormley.

A guy was interviewed by department officers about unlawfully importing and unlicensed impotence medications through the web.

The 47-year-old was likewise questioned about other medicine offenses.

He will now be the subject of a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The search was performed by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, said: "It is crucial that we get the message across that unlicensed medicines can be dangerous.

"These kinds of items being offered, usually online, have undergone no quality assurance and there can be no assurance about their safety.

"You merely do not understand what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More significantly, you do not know the effect drugs like this may have on your health."
